100% Casein Complex by Scitec Nutrition is a Micellar Casein dominant milk protein fusion. Scientific studies into nutrient timing and protein types have provided us with tools to maximize training effects. The Casein milk protein is a slow-digesting type (as opposed to fast Whey proteins) that provides a sustained release of amino acids into the bloodstream possibly up to 7-8 hours. This makes Casein ideal when meals are too far apart for some reason, or before going to bed. If you use pre- and intra-workout nutrition (protein or amino acids), it may be preferable to include Casein as the main post-workout protein. Slower digestion makes Casein more anti-catabolic than fast proteins and the amino acid utilization from this protein is more efficient.
Casein is high in the crucial branched-chain amino acids (BCAA's) and very high (higher than Whey) in L-Glutamine, a practically essential amino acid very important to muscle building. Micellar Casein differs from other Caseins as it is undenatured and it exists in its natural form, therefore it's more readily digested and assimilated by the body. If you use pre- and intra-workout nutrition (protein or amino acids), it may be preferable to include Casein as the main post-workout protein. Mix 1-2 servings with any liquid to prepare a shake. Use 350 ml liquid per scoop and shake vigorously!
